Fans in Brazil and Milan are much worried after their star player Kaka met with a car accident last night. Reports state that there need to be nothing worried about the situation as the player has suffered nothing serious in the accident. The attacking midfielder was making a video for the Brazilian website Globoesporte; his job for the day was to drive around the city while giving sightseeing commentary. It was then that the player met with the accident and all the attraction was pulled towards him after the incident. The local police found it a bit difficult to clear the public and escort the player to the hospital. As per the reports that came from Italy the player will be back to action in a couple of days and there is nothing to worry about. Kaka apologised to the man who, luckily for the player, was a Milan fan - it could have been so different if the third party supported Inter.
Messi who came second to Ronaldo in the Baloon d’Or race says that he is not worried after his loss to Ronaldo in the race as he is confident that he will win the Player of the year award for sure. Barcelona’s Argentine superstar Lionel Messi was the only other European powerhouse realistically in the running for France Football’s Player of the Year award. However, the voting went as predicted, with Manchester United’s prolific Portuguese ace Cristiano Ronaldo gaining the bulk of the votes from the 96 journalist judges, with Messi in second and Fernando Torres of Liverpool rounding off the top three.
After much debate and speculation Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United and Portugal who helped Manchester United to win two titles last season has won the most coveted prize that a player could earn which is the Player of the Year award. Ronaldo was a clear winner, collecting 77 votes from the 96 journalists who judge the award, while Lionel Messi of Barcelona and Liverpool’s Fernando Torres filled out the placings. It was no surprise that the player won the award as being a midfielder he scored 42 goals last season to help Manchester United to become both English and European champions. Only Messi was giving tough fight to him but he outbeat him with a huge margin of votes. Having bagged this award too the FIFA Player of the year award is only up for grabs and once again the fight starts and it is more interesting this time as no English based player has ever won the title so far in the history of football which favours the Argentinian.
According to reports from Spain Real Madrid are about to announce the signing of their player Huntelaar which is the first of the many transfers to come in the winter. They tried to sign the player in the summer window along with the European Champions Manchester United but both the teams failed to sign the player as the player decided to stay in Ajax. The player had a wonderful season last time in Ajax as he emerged as the leading scorer for the year in all competitions in Netherlands but it has to be accepted that the standard of football is not that good in Holland. The Spanish press report that Real Madrid have effectively signed Dutch striker Klaas Jan-Huntelaar and will unveil him in the transfer window. He has scored 75 goals in the 90 gmaes he has played so far and this acts as a huge advantage for the player. The only negative point is that he is injured until January and has never played for a top European side in the past, despite his age. Huntelaar was made club captain earlier this season by coach Marco Van Basten and appeared at the European Championships for Holland, finding the back of the net against Romania.
Chelsea owner has stated their striker Drogba is going no where and there will no addition of players to the squad in the winter transfer window this season. Drogba who was instrumental in helping Chelsea win the title a couple of years ago and the main player in the team last season was speculated to leave the club and join Inter Milan in the start of the season but the player did not go. He missed most of the current season due to an injury and with the substitute striker Anelka in great form and being the leading goal scorer in the league so far Drogba could not find a place in the team. This raised the speculation once again that Drobga might leave the club as he is not getting regular match practice here. But the Chelsea owner today stated that the player is not leave the club and there will also be no further addition to the team’s strength as he is not having any players in mind to buy in the transfer window that is to open in the next couple of weeks.
The Palerno goal keeper Marco Amelia who saved Ronaldinho’s penalty kick in the match yesterday has told that it was the Playstation that helped him do the save. Palerno beat Milan in the match last night and Ronaldinho missed a kick from the spot and this cost his team more than the match as he is seeing his team six points down in the table. The goal keeper has told that the games that he play in Playstation has helped him to judge Ronaldinho and that made him do the save. “It was like playing against Ronaldinho on the Playstation,” he excitedly claimed, according to Channel4. “He did the exact same run-up, it was very strange.”
Fernando Torres of Liverpool is out of action once again and this time he will not be playing for three months. The forward picked up an hamstring injury and his absence is going to affect the team a lot as they are in a good position of winning the title for the first time in 18 years. Torres was back in action after suffering a similar injury a couple of months earlier and have played just two matches following his return. This is really a bad season for Torres as he is suffering a lot of injuries. The player most part of the championship that has taken so far due to an injury. Liverpool are in the top of the table sharing the top spot with Chelsea and about half the tournament is about to get over. Liverpool are having big matches in the weeks to come.
